An Awareness Programme In Partnership With

 

National Council of Women’s Organisation

Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development

 

In conjunction with Valentine 2009, the MMIGLOBAL & MMICARE ASSOCIATION are organising  SHADES OF LOVE contests with an underlying theme - STOP TRAFFICKING IN WOMEN & CHILDREN.

 

One-third of all victims are from SEA (South East Asia/ASEAN nations).  Malaysia is a transfer hub and a hotspot for the EXCHANGE.  Most importantly, a majority of the victims are children/ women under 25 years.

 

What is Trafficking (Jual Beli) In Human Beings?

Trafficking is moving, buying, selling or transferring of persons (in this case women) through deception or force for exploitation. It:

  1. Is a crime of greed, exploitation and violence
  2. Uses force, threats and deception (cheating/fraud)
  3. Works within and between countries

What is the primary trigger factors?

Sex & Money – When There is Demand Supply Awaits.
